I’ve mentioned a few times about my aspiration to move towards a more mindful closet. I’ve been thinking about the impact that I want to make in this world and since I’m a style blogger, studying and practicing mindfulness, it just feels very aligned that I be more intentional about the clothing that I wear and purchase. I wore this prAna top and jeans (borrowed from my sister’s closet), to the Mamas Making It Panel, hosted by Fashion Mamas, that I attended on International Women’s Day.
prAna is a lifestyle clothing company that provides products with purpose while adhering to sustainable, ethical business practices. Many of their products are also Fair Trade Certified, which ensures that workers have safe working conditions, are paid fairly and that women are treated equally.
My sister is *very* pregnant at the moment, so she kindly offered to let me borrow some items from her closet – she’s been shopping prAna for a long time! The shirt is actually a yoga top that you can layer on top of your tank or sports bra. I dressed up the look by adding my favorite platforms that I got over 5 years ago from Anthropologie and this long neutral cardigan.
I loved hearing all the panelist’s stories on how they started their businesses and continue to run it as a Mother. It’s inspiring to hear their mission behind their brands and could feel so much passion in their voices.
I’ve never felt more empowered in my life than at this moment to continue to create positive changes in myself so that my overfill can inspire positive changes in others.
I’ve always thought that the clothing you wear says something about who you are – and this rings so true to me now. “Individually we make a choice. Together we make a difference.” – prAna.
