Mindful Monday // 12/31/18

Playing at the beach on Christmas Day 2018

Oh hello, Monday.

Let’s take some mindful moments before we start our day.

I’m starting this little Monday Mindfulness series to give space to take a pause, share thoughts and things that I’ve been loving and appreciate the little moments in life.

And, oh hey, I blogged! It’s been a while. This year has been a bit of a wonderful whirlwind, with some downs and a whole lot of ups. We spent a good amount of time on trips with friends and family and created some very special memories – I hope to do more of that in the coming year.

New Year

// New Beginnings

My focus word for this coming year is abundance. (In 2018, it was connection.)

Abundant thinking is an attitude and mindset that focuses on what we already have and allows to see possibility rather than limits. Deepak Chopra says that “the prevailing belief is that creating an abundance mindset allows you to:

  • Live an unlimited, full, and satisfying life
  • Feel plentiful, creative, and inspired
  • Create memorable and meaningful life experiences

Most importantly, for me, it’s about having enough and being enough *in this present moment*.

Mindful Style + Beauty

// Reformation

My go-to for sustainable dresses. Reformation has the most gorgeous, slightly flirty dresses that are great for everyday and for special occasions. Reformation puts sustainability at the core in everything that they do to reduce their environmental impact and invest in the people who make this revolution possible.

I wore the Jaz dress for our family photos in Paris and the Boston dress with a Boden sweater for Christmas (purchased via poshmark). I may or may not be wearing a Ref dress tonight for NYE!

Sustainable Living

// Hydro Flask

Another favorite this year has been my Hydro Flask. I love my 42oz wide-mouth that I got from the Roxy Fitness RUN SUP YOGA event and my Peet’s x Hydro Flask that I use daily for my tea. It was also my go-to stocking stuffer for Christmas! I highly suggest investing in one (or more) to reduce plastic water bottle use.

Thoughtful Consumption

// Hello Fresh (Vegetarian Box)

My Family and I rented an Airbnb in Carlsbad for Christmas and instead of bringing a ton of ingredients, my sister signed up for the Hello Fresh vegetarian box for my brother and me. It was pretty simple to make and actually pretty yummy, plus it was cost effective! I did swap out a few ingredients to make it gluten and dairy-free (corn tortillas instead of the included flower and vegan cheese). Overall, I was pretty impressed!

I recently discovered Purple Carrot, a vegan delivery service and signed up for their TB12 Performance Meals, which are vegan, gluten-free and higher in protein. I’ll write a review once I try it!

Mindful Motherhood

// Ri, Em + Me

In our holiday pajamas, with (most) of the stuffed animals that we received for Christmas <3
